Medical Psychology

The basic textbook for the subject of health psychology at all levels of nursing studies is designed as a theoretical and practical unit. The theoretical part introduces the reader to the psychology of the sick. It deals with psychological conditions in the framework of diagnostic and therapeutic activities, in providing psychological assistance to patients during treatment and in coping with chronic disease states. The book will help students and nurses manage challenging situations in caring for the individual needs of the sick, disabled and dying. The book was published with the support of the Hospital Na Homolce and with the use of the grant no. 1529 P 2006.
