Magic Island

One dreary spring day, Lottie and Rose notice an ad on the bulletin board of a kindergarten in Brooklyn:
Hopewell Cottage.
Little Lost Island, Maine.
An old nice cottage for rent on a small island.

They both need a rest; Lottie from her overbearing husband and Rose from her naughty twins – and recharge the batteries. The offer doesn't let them sleep, so even though they can't afford it, they end up going to the island in the summer.

They are captivated by the crisp air, the beautiful views, the vision of long carefree days and the idea of lobster, corn and cocktails served on the veranda. So for a whole month, they put real life and all their problems behind them and gradually begin to open up on the idyllic island: both to themselves and to the possibilities of a life quite different from those they have known so far. Is change really that hard?
