Love during the totalitarian era
Audiobook Láska za totáče, by Eva Michorová, read by Martina Hudečková. Mix and mastering Jakub Kopriva, music by Karpof Brothers, director Daniel Tůma.
IT MIGHT BE BETTER TO STAY ON THE VINEGAR
What do the beautiful teacher Miriam Kocsisová, the chubby housekeeper Otýlie Hustolesová and the underage gymnasts Líza, Andula and Vendula have in common? They all fell in love with unsuitable men, whom they shouldn' t even think about. The 1980s are rushing towards their midpoint, and in the sleepy town below the castle, the foxes are saying good night. However, the calm is only apparent, there are many time bombs ticking beneath the surface. Love is a powerful sorceress, capable of derailing women in love from their usual paths. Unhappy loves existed even under socialism, along with other curses, such as extremely strict fathers who counted every penny, high school graduation, or botched amateur theater. The 1980s were both charming and terrifying, so they weren' t really that different from today' s crazy times, were they?
