They told me I shot him. But they erased my memory from four months back, so who knows. The court didn't really care much about that, though. It was me. The recording from my brain-implanted processor was completely unequivocal. I had the idiot in the crosshairs of my sniper rifle and I pulled the trigger.
My life sentence lasted only until the moment I accidentally got a ride out with a drug queenpin. And that's when it really started to get deadly. The NSA were after me. And they didn't want me back in prison, but in the morgue. They probably would have got me within two days, if I hadn't been one of them before. And what's more, with a processor in my head. Millions of operations per second, so it was a bit complicated for the boys. And then it wasn't just about my survival, but about who and how they got me into this shit. I estimated my chances at about fifty-fifty. Until that beautiful mixed-race woman with black hair put her service Glock to my head. But even then, they weren't completely zero. She was a woman, after all. And I had confidence in my abilities with women.
