Lion skin
Caryll is the perfect English gentleman, except for the fact that he is the illegitimate son of the Earl of Ostermore. He arrives in England from his native France and competes with his half-brother for the love of Hortense, the Earl's beautiful but poor ward. They clash in a battle of jealousy and greed, where one tells the other: "Remember that the man who sold the lion's skin while the lion was still alive, will lose his own life in the hunt for that lion." However, Caryll must fight not only his brother but also the spies of the English king, who fears a conspiracy by enemies seeking his throne. This romantic story, full of witty dialogue, is set in the first half of the 18th century against the elegant backdrop of London's aristocracy.
