Lights over the marsh
Enter the world of the will-o'-the-wisps. The winning book of the 4th annual Hvězda inkoustu (Ink Star) competition.
Lena ended her own life in a swamp, completely voluntarily. She had more than enough reasons for not wanting to stay among humans anymore. Now she is a Navka, a future will-o'-the-wisp. To become one, she must acquire all the necessary skills and, above all, perform the crucial task – luring a human soul into the swamp.
However, the seven-year period she has to complete her tasks changes to a mere seven days after an encounter with a hostile striga. Among the will-o'-the-wisps, Lena has found a new, loving family and is willing to do anything to continue living among them. But can she protect the swamp from the dangerous striga's attacks? Will she manage to bring a human soul and complete her transformation into a will-o'-the-wisp, or will she face eternal damnation?
