Life and works of Vladimir Solovyov
Sergey Mikhaylovich Solovyov was the nephew of Vladimir Solovyov, the most prominent "Russian classic" whose writings are published in foreign languages and whose thought has a far-reaching influence. Although several biographical accounts of him exist in Czech, this source text fills in many gaps, serving as a primary source of vital information. In addition to systematically gathering materials, the author focuses on a much more difficult task: evaluating the material in a way that corresponds to the oral tradition he captured within the family circle or from those who came into contact with Solovyov. Even the fate of the author's publication itself is dramatic – it could only be published much later thanks to Russian emigrants in Brussels.
