Let's defeat hoaxes!

It's not possible to convince everyone who believes in hoaxes. But you can talk to many of them. Vladimír Šnídl, a reporter for Denník N, has for years been a part of the world from which some of our friends and relatives also draw their information. Now he offers you a manual – on how to understand people with pro-Russian or conspiratorial beliefs and, most importantly, how to communicate with them. The author has extensive experience with disinformation, paid for with his own mental distress. He has been dealing with it professionally since 2016: he joined Kotleba supporter groups on Facebook, and started listening to Infovojna and Slobodný vysielač. He reads disinformation websites and follows the politicians connected to this scene. During the pandemic, he was in communities of anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, and ivermectin consumers. When Putin invaded Ukraine, he joined the Russia-Slovakia Friendship group. He has experienced many arguments with supporters of Russia and has led dozens of discussions in schools, libraries, and companies. And in his attempts to convince others, he has also made several mistakes. He has spoken with psychologists, psychiatrists, experts on critical thinking, and specialists in Kremlin propaganda. And he passes on the most important knowledge and experiences he has gained to you in this audiobook.
