Audiobook The Last Stop: Africa

The story of Tomáš Poláček's last and craziest journey from South Africa to Prague, from Cape Střelkové Cape to northern Morocco, where he fell seriously ill with malaria.

Tomáš Poláček

From September 2000 he worked at MF DNES, where he soon established himself as an author of large interviews and reports. It is interesting to note that five percent of his respondents died within six months of the article's publication, and that Tomáš usually found a topic where alcohol consumption could not be avoided. Even so, he stayed at MF DNES until the summer of 2014, when he decided to follow his biggest journalistic favourites to the monthly Reporter, where he has been working ever since. There he began to fulfill his dream - hitchhiking around the world.
In the summer of 2015 he travelled from Prague to Magadan in the very east of Russia and then from Alaska to the Land of Fire in the south of Argentina. In the autumn of 2017, he hitchhiked across Africa from the Cape to northern Morocco, where he fell seriously ill.

Radek Hoppe

He has been dubbing regularly since the age of eleven and nowadays dubbing is his main activity together with dubbing radio spots, TV commercials, documentaries, instructional videos and PC games. As a child, he played a short scene (when Karel Čapek is delirious with fever) in Štěpán Skalski's film "Man Against Destruction", and later, alongside Vlastimil Brodsky, the main child role in Zdeněk Zelenka's 1990 film "Freonový duch". He also appeared in an episode of the popular TV series "The Rose Garden", specifically in episode 111 and in a TV commercial for an unnamed supermarket. He is an active electric, acoustic and lap steel guitar player. His main genre is contemporary American country (rock ´n ´ roll, rockabilly). He is an occasional author of articles on music.
