Large explanatory dictionary of forensic terminology

The Interpretive Dictionary of Forensic Medicine is intended for anyone involved in the field of medical forensic science. More than 3,200 passwords will be used not only by doctors, who encounter violent crime in their practice (medical examiners, surgeons, trauma surgeons, orthopedists, psychiatrists), but also other experts: from medical and natural sciences, mainly toxicologists and geneticists; from legal sciences, police officers, judges, prosecutors and defence lawyers; and from technical sciences, mainly ballistics and road transport experts.

The dictionary provides all interested parties with an orientation in the terminology of medical forensic sciences with a guarantee of professionalism, accuracy and clarity of its interpretations. The dictionary was compiled by leading Czech and Slovak experts in their respective fields. Individual entries are supplemented by references to the corresponding professional terms in the national textbook Forensic Medicine I. and II. the volume (by the main author), in which the reader can usually learn more details and context related to a particular entry.

This is the first time that a work of a similar character has been published as a separate book in the Czech Republic.

The dictionary was reviewed by the distinguished European forensic physician and emeritus head of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Geneva, prof. MUDr. Oldřich Fryc.
