How much does Matilda weigh?

Third-grader Kája (Carlos) Votruba has a best friend Hermína and he's adapted. You don't know what that means? It's best if we give the floor directly to Kaja: "Being adapted means you're not ours, but then some nice people come to the orphanage and take you home. They'll wash you, feed you, show your grandmother what's now yours. So that's the adaptation." Kaya is a big scaredy-cat, but he's most afraid of Matilda. Who or what is it? Matilda Bold is a seventh grader and bullies the whole school. His feet are as big as trees, his ass is big above them and then his head. When he goes to school in the morning, the sidewalk is absolutely thunderous. But because Kája and Hermína are curious, they wonder how much Matylda weighs. And it wouldn't be Votruba who couldn't handle it. But it's going to be awfully hard to find out - and when you throw in a gang of smugglers and a trip to Pashtica - it looks almost impossible!

The author explains difficult topics such as adoption and bullying to children in a humorous way and proves that a good mood and a cheerful approach to everything will solve a large part of the difficulties of not only one such third grader...
