Knights of Vřesov
A historical story from the 14th century by a popular Czech author
It is 1310 and the young John of Luxembourg arrives in Bohemia to take over the government. The country is torn. On the one hand the supporters of the weak Henry of Carinthia, on the other hand the supporters of John of Luxembourg, the husband of Eliška Premyslovna. Henry of Lipá and Eliška Rejčka, the royal widow and his mistress, also stand high on the chessboard. Peter the Great is here. of Rožmberk, the most powerful South Bohemian nobleman.
The real heroes of this story, however, are those about whom the chronicles are mostly silent. Those whose lives have fallen into oblivion, whose dwellings and fortresses have crumbled into dust, and today no one remembers where they were.
