Prague's cities have long since ceased to be the metropolis they were in the days of the last Přemyslids, but some life does pulsate in them. And where there is living, making, trading and loving, there is also murder. This time, however, the Crusader Ojiř, a healer and herbalist, is accused of murder for his dedication to the poor and sick. What wonder that Ojíř's friend, Knight Zdík of the Order of the Johannites, does not find the accusation? In order to clear the Eagle, he must find the real killer. And that means digging very deep not only into the past, but also into human filth and greed.
