Kamil Bednar: The Vengeful Return

Based on the American poet Robinson Jeffers, the play tells the story of a son returning from war. The horrors of the war and the deep deformation of the relationship between his father and mother drive him to a desperate, tragic revenge. The poetic impact of the words reinforces the tragic dimension of the story. In 1965 the play was staged by director Josef Melč with an excellent cast including actors Petr Haničinec, Dana Medřická, Vladimír Šmeral, František Krahulík and František Smolík.
