K. H. Mácha: Máj (2008)

One of the most remarkable theatre productions of May was the Brno U stolu Theatre. František Derfler took over May. He invited rock drummer Zdeněk Kluka and two young performers to join him: Jiří Valůšek for the role of Vilém, the terrible lord of the forest, and Erika Stárková for the role of Jarmila. She accompanies the production with singing. František Derfler himself retained the role of the narrator of the bloody story. The result is a performance of which Milan Uhde has written that, after the traditional Shaldean "snivelling" interpretation, it emphasises the existentialist conception of May.
