Josef Hora: Jan the violinist
Jan the Violinist - a lyrical-epic poetic short story by Josef Hora - was first published in 1939 during the suffocating period of occupation. It was written under the formal influence of Pushkin, whom Josef Hora translated extensively at the time, and is a kind of search for responsibility for the fate of a tried and endangered country-home.
Directed by Josef Henke, the programme, which was filmed in 1971 but subsequently banned and premiered in 1998, stars Jiří Adamíra.
