It won't go any further

A well-planned journey – that’s how the road trip of two couples criss-crossing the United States by car appears at first. But between Zdeněk, Zdena, Vilém and Miriam, an oppressive tension builds, escalating with each passing day. Nevertheless, they complete the trip and return as planned to Lake Placid, in the middle of a wild nature park in the USA. Six years later, two human skeletons, tied together, are found in a marsh near the lake. The local police, and later the FBI, launch a thorough investigation. The two interconnected stories show just how much relationships between close friends, and even the state of the country, can change in a relatively short time.

This social-psychological novel with crime elements is written in clear language and a factual, minimalist style. It will captivate readers with its impressive build-up of tension and atmosphere.
