Maggie Wall's grave

The Scottish town of Auchenmullan huddles forgotten in the shadow of a nearby mountain, under a permanent blanket of depression and hopelessness. In recent years, it has become a ghost town. Only the last forty-seven inhabitants remain.

People have disappeared, shops have closed, and nothing of interest is left, except perhaps for a solitary cross high above the town, where the local witch was buried more than three hundred years ago. The overgrown, unkempt grave near the cottage where Maggie once lived is shrouded in spooky tales that the old-timers have always used to frighten small children.

So it's no surprise when, one day, the town's last remaining youngsters, suitably fortified with alcohol, head to the final resting place of the woman who once died a cruel death at the hands of the local villagers.

However, it soon becomes clear that the legends were not entirely false, and that some sins are not completely forgotten, even after centuries.
