House of Ghosts

The fascinating story of a South American family against the backdrop of a complex time in Chile from the early 20th century to the 1973 fascist coup

The House of the Spirits is the best example of magical realism in the novel, and immediately became one of the most successful works of the 20th century. This is the grotesque and moving story of the family of Chilean Senator Esteban Trueba, set against the backdrop of a difficult time in Chile from the early 20th century to the 1973 fascist coup. It is also a wonderful story of a woman full of natural courage and strength.
In 1993, it was also successfully made into a film starring Maryl Streep.

Isabel Allende

As Isabel's parents were employed in the diplomatic service, she moved frequently. She was born in Peru but lived in Bolivia and then in Lebanon. After returning to Chile, she began to work in journalism. Isabel is the niece of Salvador Allende, the former president of Chile who was assassinated in the 1973 coup. At that time, Isabel moved with her family to Venezuela. She now lives happily in California with her second husband.

Dana Cerna

Dana Černá is one of the busiest and most experienced dubbing actresses in our country. Early in her career, she lent her voice to actress Uma Thurman in the cult film Pulp Fiction: tales from the underworld.

Vladislav Benes

He has been dubbing practically since childhood, when he appeared as a child actor on the stage of the National Theatre. He graduated from Gymnasium and then naturally went on to study acting at DAMU. He gradually gained engagements at the J. Průcha in Kladno, at the Mladá Boleslav Municipal Theatre and since 1983 he has been a member of the National Theatre in Prague. Thanks to his pleasant voice, he is often cast in dubbing roles - for example, he is Pierce Brosnan's court dubber.
