House drainage - English courtyards, drains, air cavities

Drainage systems were and still are the most important part of any building. English courtyards can be found in historic buildings and are still an excellent measure against water ingress into the masonry. These parts of the buildings also serve to illuminate the basement rooms and are therefore the main theme of the second edition of the successful title. The revised edition is expanded by three important chapters - 1. Floor solutions in connection with the rehabilitation of damp masonry, 2. Long-term temporary solutions of damp surfaces, 3. Excavation as part of the rehabilitation of masonry. New photographs and additional texts have been added to the chapters on the causes of excessive moisture and drainage of the substructure. Of course, there are also appendices that offer the readers variants of solutions and implementations of dehumidification of basement masonry. The publication, exceptional in its focus on prevention, will certainly be appreciated by owners and users of real estate, as well as by employees of construction companies that build or reconstruct such structures.
