Horrors with TGM

Could the good soldier Svejk resist the terrifying alien gods? What would a zombie epidemic look like in the middle of a Carlsbad festival? What massacred a unit of Czechoslovak legionaries in the middle of the High Tatras? How will the Czechoslovak People's Army cope with a downed UFO object? And can Karel Čapek solve a series of mysterious deaths in time before the next one occurs? Each of the fourteen stories in this book proudly espouses a different horror or comedy tradition. You can expect a wild ride from Dickens to King to Simek and Grossmann, but all the stories have two things in common: love for Czech realities and obsession with scary stories. Comedian and columnist Jan Studnička alternates between styles like murder weapons, language dirtier than the trenches of the First World War and humour blacker than an SS uniform.
