Horror Date

The worst date of your life might just be the most important one. The audiobook A Horror Date is not a thriller! It's a tragicomic story about love, friendship, the fear of loss, but also about how the proximity of death forces us to ask the hardest questions. This time, instead of suspense, Sebastian Fitzek builds on humour, empathy, and a surprisingly large dose of humanity – proving that he can tell a story just as captivatingly without thriller-like twists. Raphael is terminally ill and has only one wish – to fall in love one more time. He registers on a dating site for people in the final stages of their lives, where he meets Nala. They get on exceptionally well in their messages, and it seems the proverbial spark has flown between them, so they want to meet in person. However, Raphael's health deteriorates sharply, and on the day of their planned meeting, he sends his best friend, Julius, on the date instead. Julius is Raphael's opposite in many ways – not a bookworm but an athlete, and he's getting married in a few days. He finds himself in a role he is definitely not prepared for. The identity swap triggers a series of comical, awkward, and surprisingly touching situations.
