Henrik Ibsen: Peer Gynt (1958)

A poetic drama by the most famous Norwegian playwright and founder of modern drama. How far does one have to run to realize that there is nothing left? Ibsen's original literary drama was an original response to Goethe's variation of the Faust story, but in Gynt he shifts the archetype to the modern age, where man can use technology to achieve what Goethe's Faust only dreamt of: to transform the world, God's creation, to his own use and likeness. Radio production from r. 1958.
