Heaven and Hell
The best-known and most widely read publication by the Swedish author, thinker and mystic Emanuel Swedenborg (1688–1772) is a detailed description of the life after life into which people awaken after the death of their physical body; it is about God, heaven, hell, the world of spirits and their inhabitants. Swedenborg wrote this work in Latin and first published it in London in 1758. It was first published in Czech in 1912, and our edition contains a new, modern translation that is easy for contemporary readers to understand.
