Heart in danger
Fate dealt them their cards, but they decided to play by their own rules.
The Napoleonic Wars are over, and the English prisoners of war, held for years in a French fortress, are finally returning home. Lord Jonathan finds himself in a London he barely recognises—and faces shocking changes within his own family. He discovers that he has inherited a ducal title. But with this new status come old guilts. Jonathan has never forgiven himself for failing his late mentor, and now he is determined to fulfil his last wish: to find a suitable husband for his daughter, Victoria. Even if it means providing her dowry himself...
Victoria, however, is determined to take her fate into her own hands. Jonathan, this 'Greek god' who wants to control her life, is undoubtedly very attractive—but she has no desire to marry. Instead, she dreams of establishing a school for female artists. The verbal sparring between the two stubborn individuals becomes increasingly charged, and when secrets from Jonathan's past and the circumstances of her father's death surface, they both find themselves in a whirlwind of mutual attraction and danger that they can only face together.
