Grandma the fairy

A gentle story about the power of an ethereal being. Nikolka and Vilém decide to visit their grandmother for the first time, a woman gifted with special abilities. Her friends are wondrous beings who live in nature. But the evil Bermudan Curly-Hairs want to destroy it all. Grandmother and the children thwart their plans. This audiobook is published with the kind support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. A poetic story by Vít Brukner, who inherited his gentle storytelling from his father, the poet Josef Brukner. Nikolka and Vilém decide to visit their grandmother for the first time – a strange, free, ethereal being, as their mother says. Even the train journey unfolds in an unusual way; on the conductor's third sneeze, the children get off in Třeskolusky, where their grandmother is supposed to be waiting. But she is nowhere to be seen. After a while, a Prskolet (Sputterjet) whizzes up, and in it sits a lady in red stiletto heels, blue dungarees, a pink jumper with fringed sleeves, and an elegant little hat with a feather. The days pass like a dream. In the morning, a water jet washes the children and a fountain dries them; Vilém's wobbly tooth ends up on a spider's thread high in a tree; and together with their grandmother and her marvellous friends, they experience a full moon festival. But no joy lasts forever. The Bermudan Curly-Hairs settle in the area, wanting to destroy all nature by spraying the moon black. However, Grandmother, the children, and their fairy-tale helpers stop them. Just in the nick of time, because these unforgettable holidays are coming to an end.
