Gifted and Talented

The issue of giftedness has been studied for many years not only in psychology and pedagogy, but also in other disciplines. Currently, this topic has become very topical, and in the context of changes in education, it is receiving more and more attention from the general public. Although there are many professional publications dealing with giftedness abroad, we have almost none here, which is why this book was written. It presents the basic approaches to the study of giftedness, addresses theoretical issues and practical implications of the topic. It covers three basic approaches to child giftedness: cognitive, personal-developmental, socio-cultural. The key issue of educating and developing the gifted, finding gifted children and putting them to work is not left aside. Teacher training for working with gifted pupils is an integral part of this topic. The publication is based on the Czech environment and is dedicated especially to students of pedagogical and psychological disciplines.
