Getting started programming in Java

This book introduces readers to the world of programming through Java, which is currently the most widely used language for creating large-scale programs and applications.

It gradually introduces the reader to the various constructs of the language, not limiting itself to how to code a program, but teaching the reader how to actually program. Therefore, it does not focus on teaching the syntax of the language and working with libraries, but teaches how to design a program in a given programming language. It teaches the reader how to think when programming.

Although the book is primarily intended for beginners, the feedback from reviewers has shown that even experienced programmers will find lessons in it.

The book is based on the authors' long experience not only with teaching programming at university, but also with teaching at high schools and conducting additional courses for professional programmers.

The authors introduce the reader step by step into the secrets of designing programs in Java and show him how to make the best use of this modern technology and where to watch out for its pitfalls. At the same time, they are introduced to the principles of modern programming and learn to put them into practice.
