Brutal bomb attack, several victims, Sweden in shock
Ex-cop and homeless man Tom Stilton paddles down a Thai river in a primitive canoe. In his pocket is a photograph of an unknown man and the name of the lost steamer. He heads to the Golden Triangle in search of a dark secret - and hopes that this journey will also help him come to terms with a crime he recently committed.
At the same time, Olivia Rönning is given a special assignment. Some time ago, the family of a Stockholm prosecutor was killed in a car explosion, and this crime shocked the whole of Sweden. The perpetrator is caught and convicted. Nevertheless, Olivia contacts retired crime commissioner Mette Olsäter because she believes there has been a scandalous miscarriage of justice and wants to reopen the investigation. An investigation that leads her into a world of sexual violence and men who will do anything to keep their power.
Gangrene is the fifth book in the successful series of Nordic thrillers with Tom Stilton and Olivia Rönning.
