Fundamentals of nursing and nursing procedures

The study of nursing is an integral part of preparation for the profession of paramedic. In the Czech Republic, legislation allows paramedics to work not only in emergency pre-hospital care, acute intensive care including emergency admissions, but also in the whole spectrum of health care facilities as a practical nurse.

However, there is a minimum of comprehensive texts dealing with nursing issues and intended for paramedics in the Czech Republic. Therefore, the book contains information, procedures and new trends in the field of nursing aimed at the professional training of paramedics. The text should also serve as an orientation aid in some new trends for lifelong learners or professionals.

Since the authors work at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of CTU, they are very close to the current technical developments. All three authors teach nursing courses, but also have many years of experience in providing nursing care in practice and mentoring.
