From the correspondence of Božena Němcová

"I have to write. When I sit down to write, often depressed by gloom or worry, I live in another world," Božena Němcová confides in one of her letters (4. 2. 1820 Vienna - 21. 1. 1862 Prague). When we read her correspondence, we must always admire again with what humility and courage she overcame the adversity of her fate and how, despite poverty and living on the edge of her strength, she managed to create an immortal work. An insight into the writer's personal life and creative background, as well as a distinctive, full-fledged component of her literary work. From the letters of Božena Němcová read by Růžena Merunková.
