Found Lady Clare

Clare, a slave who escaped from Apulia where she was taken as a child, lives in Troyes with a sick woman and her young daughter. When she is warned that slave traders have appeared in the town, she tries to flee.

While escaping, she is caught by the knight Arthur, who, by his count's decree, is to escort her to Brittany to her supposed father. Arthur knows nothing of her past as a slave, but the unusual colour of her eyes suggests she is indeed the daughter of a noble count. But is it really true? And what will Arthur do about his growing love for Clare, when he himself is just a knight of common birth?
