Forest in the house
An unexpectedly chilling novel from the bestselling author of Hannah, The Silent Years, November
They call her cácora and she seems to be in the world by accident and as if in addition. The father disappeared in the floods, the mother runs away from her responsibilities to lovers and alcohol - and the little girl is left hanging on the neck of her resentful grandmother, who runs a horticultural business and is convinced that everything bad in life can be eradicated like a voracious creeper. Or just don't talk about it. But there's a forest all around that hides something sinister, and one day the cácora starts talking...
Alena Mornštajnová has written a powerful and dramatic story about the fact that nothing in life is as it seems at first sight and that no secret is ever buried so deep that it cannot be dug up. You'll be scared, but you won't stop reading until they surface.

- Soňa Kacerovská, iDNES.cz

I wanted to write a book about it, how hard it is sometimes to tell the truth from a lie, how difficult it is to stand up to evil, about it, as some choices, that may seem simple to onlookers, are illegible and insurmountable to man, who is at the center of the action. I wanted to clarify for myself why these things happen and why it is difficult to face them.
