Footprints in the snow
Former police officer Paula has found a risk-free job. But uncovering insurance fraud bores her. When a friend calls and asks for her help with the case of a journalist imprisoned for the murder of a colleague, she initially dismisses it as a waste of time. Soon, however, she stumbles upon inconsistencies in the investigation and becomes completely engrossed in the search for the truth. She questions the work of a former colleague from the criminal investigation department, who is also her ex-lover. A new, almost identical murder soon confirms the police's mistake. The victim is the daughter of an influential financier. Is it a serial killer or a crazed copycat? The extravagant, single thirty-something with a passion for rock music, motorbikes and martial arts can't stop sticking her nose into the investigation. The tension is heightened by further tragic deaths, and the challenging case culminates in a murder committed with the same weapon.
Vojtech Beniczky (1973) is the pseudonym of an author born in Malacky. He has lived in Bratislava since childhood, where he first learned a trade and then passed his school-leaving exams ten years later. He has experienced situations that allow him to credibly describe a police raid or an interrogation. Nowadays, he surrounds himself only with people who serve as positive heroes in his writing. He is married and has one daughter.
