The past is calling. The third instalment in an addictive detective series.
With Nate Monroe's help, Madison Harper has finally cleared her name. Now she plans to rebuild not only her career but also her relationship with her son, whom she was not allowed to see during her imprisonment. On her very first day on her way to work, Madison spots a crashed car under a cliff by the roadside. It is October, dark, cold, and pouring with rain, so it does not surprise her that someone has lost control on the wet road and ended up off the asphalt. She goes to help the occupants of the car, but all she finds is a lot of blood and an abandoned little girl, about a year old. An investigation full of complications soon begins. Meanwhile, Nate's father, Jack Connor, gets in touch after a long time, which does not bode well. Will the private investigator take justice into his own hands, or will he, with the greatest self-denial, hand the devilish priest over to the police?
