Finland

This book introduces Czech readers to the fundamental facts and events of Finnish history, showing how Finland's position between East and West has influenced its history, culture, and politics. The book contains everything necessary to understand both Finnish history and the present day, but is written in a readable and clear manner. In addition to Finland's own history, the book also covers Czech-Finnish relations (especially cultural ones) and the current situation in Finland. Readers will also find travel tips for Finland, useful contacts, interesting internet addresses, a selective bibliography of Czech translations of Finnish fiction, as well as information on dictionaries and textbooks.
