Financial markets

The textbook covers the most important areas of financial markets and financial investment instruments. The experienced author first defines financial markets and their functions and introduces financial institutions, their products and services. It then discusses interest rates and the basic types of financial investment instruments. It discusses in more detail conventional financial instruments, derivative futures, equity and mutual fund securities and structured products. Finally, it also discusses regulation and supervision in the financial system and the current developments in the global financial system and the world economy.

The textbook is intended mainly for students of financial markets courses taught at economics or law universities, but it can also be used by economically oriented secondary schools.

It is unique in that it includes a program for generating practice tests, which will be appreciated by both students who can test and consolidate their knowledge and teachers of the subject.
