Fear of crime: myths and realities

The issue of security is one of the topics that have long resonated in society and which deserves our attention. This book focuses on fear of crime and feelings of safety in the Czech Republic. Thanks to the large amount of data available to the authors over the last 20 years, they had the opportunity to analyse in detail the diverse range of factors related to feelings of security and fear of crime, and to describe the development of both phenomena over time, as well as the position of the Czechs within Europe. Readers are also introduced to the main theoretical currents that have influenced research on feelings of safety and fear of crime. Attention is also paid to the conceptualisation of feelings of safety and fear of crime and how to measure them in practice.
