F. G. Lorca: The Plain
The drama of a young woman who passionately longs for a child. Despite her husband's indifference, despite the morality of her village, despite herself. Against all odds. The 1965 radio production was filmed by Miloslav Jareš and starred Viola Zink The Spanish poet Federico García Lorca wrote several dramatic works incorporating folkloric elements from his native Andalusia. Such is also his poetic tragedy Pláňka, in which he tells the story of a woman vainly longing for a child. The play was written in 1934 and belongs to Lorca's peak creative period, just like the better known Blood Wedding or the two years younger The House of Bernarda Alba.
