Eva Bernardin: Boys, Girls and Stodůlky

A story about the life of children in a small village, their pastimes, petty mischief and conflicts with parents and school. The reading from Eva Bernardinova's book, in František Filipovský's unmistakable rendition, complements his interpretation of Poláček's book There Were Five of Us and the famous St Nicholas's Paths. Eva Bernardinová established herself as an author of children's literature with her two-volume novel Boys, Girls and Stodůlky, which vividly depicts the world of rural children and their parents in the 1970s. The chronicle composition and the choice of heroes, corresponding to the ideals of the time, gave this work a certain sociological validity.
