An illustrated textbook for applicants for AM, A1 and A driving licences that provides concentrated information relevant to obtaining a motorcycle licence as well as additional information on driving technique, emergency management and other motorcycle specifics. To the extent necessary, the book covers motorcycle technique and maintenance and medical training (especially in the aspects of the different injuries of motorcyclists versus ordinary motorists). The focus of the textbook is the description of the driving technique, with regard to the different types of motorcycles (chopper, cruiser, enduro, travel moto, semi-racing "crawl") and scooters, with an emphasis on safety. It describes evasive manoeuvres in critical situations and the method of controlled accident, differences when riding solo and with tandem, or with luggage. Beginners will appreciate the theoretical basics of motorcycle control, the intricacies of more complex riding situations and how to handle them. More experienced bikers will find many tips from higher forms of riding.
