Welcome to the village of Ballybucklebo in Ulster, where two doctors work together to heal the bodies and souls of the town's diverse and interesting residents. But who cares about the wounded hearts of doctors? After less than a year, young Barry Laverty settles into the village and in a few months becomes a full partner in the practice. He looks forward to becoming a fixture in the community, but an unexpected romantic twist forces him to rethink his plans. Is he really going to be happy taking care of common coughs and colds for the rest of his career? Barry's mentor, Dr Fingal Flahertie O'Reilly, is also going through personal changes. After decades of mourning his wife's death, he found a new love. But the budding love affair doesn't sit well with O'Reilly's housekeeper, Maureen "Kinky" Kincaid, who is worried about her job. Tact, diplomacy and a good deal of flattery will be needed to restore peace in the household. Meanwhile, life continues in Ballybucklebo, bringing the two doctors plenty of distractions from their own problems. Both partners will need all their wisdom and compassion to make things right - just in time before their lives are changed forever.
