DNA – justice does exist

A Murder That Shook a Village

The whole village is enjoying a dance party. In the morning, however, the hangover is quickly replaced by a sobering reality. A mother and her two teenage daughters have been murdered. Who could have committed such a heinous act? Fear and mistrust spread among the people. A young biologist barely has time to settle into her new job before she is drawn into the investigation of a triple homicide by her colleague. The unsolved case troubles her for years. After the creation of the National DNA Database, designed for crime detection, new possibilities open up for detectives, and thanks to modern methods, they can more effectively track down criminals. This is the case, for example, with a brutally raped and murdered thirteen-year-old girl. When, even after six months, the extensive investigation fails to find the perpetrator, the villagers themselves, living in agonising uncertainty, propose a mass DNA collection. The murderer is identified, but many questions still remain.
