Digital Competence in a Transdisciplinary Insight: Between Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Inf

Digital Competence in a Transdisciplinary Insight: Between Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Inf
This monograph systematically offers a critical reflection on the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens, a working translation of which it also contains. It places the framework within the broader phenomenological intellectual tradition and then progressively examines all 21 competences, finding interesting points for consideration and critical reflection through a transdisciplinary approach. This is the first monograph to systematically address the issue of digital competences in this manner. In this respect, the text represents an important contribution to the wider societal discussion about the framework and digital competences as such. The book explores various perspectives – philosophical, pedagogical, sociological, and information science. On the one hand, it strives to be accessible to a broad readership, while on the other, it does not want to abandon an expert interdisciplinary view of the entire topic. It is clear from the text that becoming a digitally competent citizen is a task for every individual in society.
