Didactics of swimming

The publication, prepared by a team of authors from the Department of Swimming Sports of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University, is intended for students of the study fields of physical education and sport and for those interested in swimming lessons. The text contains three parts, which individually deal with swimming literacy, swimming technique, and swimming didactics. < br> The first part characterizes the requirements for the level of swimming literacy so that the aquatic environment and movement in it can be used throughout life. The second part is conceived as a necessary theoretical background for the actual didactics of swimming techniques. Newly included are model swimming techniques appropriate to the child' s developmental stage, the so-called baby crawl and baby sign. The text of the third part is richly supplemented with images, covers the didactics of all swimming styles, falls, jumps, swimming turns, and is expanded to include the training and development of self-rescue skills and the use of synchronized swimming in swimming lessons.
