It is no different in the picturesque, vineyard-surrounded South Moravian border village, where the former gendarme Karel Bartoš and the peasants Martin Burian, Vincek and Jarý and their families have come to seek a better life. But their hopes are not so fulfilled, as they imagined, or wine, which comes from their vineyards and in whose company they spend many an evening in the cellar, is not so delicious at first, as they would wish...
