Dazed
Dazed is the first part of the trilogy about Emma. A true story of a young woman who decided to speak out—after twenty-three years of silence. The plot begins in a student town in North Wales and continues in the Czech Republic, where the second part of this trilogy follows on.
Emma embarks on a journey of truth, uncovering suppressed memories and the pain that shaped her. She opens her heart to those who can hear and gives a voice to all who were afraid to speak. It is a confession about love that both wounds and heals. About guilt and forgiveness, about falling and the strength to rise again. Before us unfolds the story of a young woman standing at a crossroads between heart and mind, between desire and fear. The heroine goes through internal struggles and moments when it seems the world around her is collapsing. And it is in these moments that both strength and fragility are born.
Every word in this book bears the imprint of real events, genuine emotions, and life decisions. It is a raw, authentic story of a woman who learned to love—even after everything. The book is not fiction—it is written based on a true story. Therefore, any resemblance to certain people is not coincidental, and to allow this narrative to be shared with openness while protecting those who have a place in it, the characters have been given different names and some circumstances have been altered for personal and understandable reasons. However, these adjustments do not change the truthful core of the story.
The number 23 is both hidden and revealed on the book's cover—twice, and entirely intentionally. It commemorates the twenty-three years of silence and the age of the girl who, with disarming honesty, reveals her inner self in the story. The book is accompanied by illustrations by Pavla Hovorková, which will awaken the reader's imagination and draw them into the story.
