Daughters of the Flowers: the Mexican Heritage
Dahlia grew up on the coast of Cornwall, England, in her grandparents’ beautiful garden centre. She never knew either of her parents; she was raised by her grandmother and grandfather. However, she always had a large family by her side, especially her four cousins, with whom she spent every holiday in the Cornish flower garden. Like her, they are all named after popular flowers.
When her grandparents die, Dahlia feels like she is losing the ground beneath her feet. Her work as a graphic designer no longer fulfils her, and she feels somehow alone, even within her family. But then, by chance, she discovers something among her grandmother's belongings that will change her life forever: a letter from her supposedly unknown father. Why did her grandmother keep it a secret that she knew him? Without much hesitation, Dahlia decides to take a bold step—she travels to Mexico to try and find her father. She follows the trail of a love that was kindled in the ruins of ancient Mayan cities and experiences its power for herself through the attentive Pablo. Will she get the answers to her questions and find her place in life?
A captivating story about love, the strength of family, and the search for oneself, set in Mexico in places imbued with ancient Mayan culture.
