Construction and use of low-energy and passive houses
The book is a follow-up to the previous successful book "Building a family house step by step". It describes the requirements for the design, construction and living in an energy-efficient house in a clear and readable way. He goes into technical details only if it is necessary to understand the context. Based on his many years of practical experience as an architect/designer, the author evaluates the demands placed on the architect, the construction company and the builder in the design, implementation and use of low-energy and passive houses in the Czech Republic. In the following chapters, which are the focus of the book, he discusses in detail the individual requirements of the imaginary "ten" for the construction, technical equipment and behaviour of low-energy and passive houses, also with regard to the requirement for healthy living and non-traditional types of building materials. Nor does it avoid the sensitive issue of the necessary extra costs when compared to normal construction quality. He openly gives a number of erroneous examples and solutions as illustrative lessons for the reader.
