Children's souls

Belinda Evans, a former child psychology professor, was murdered on the playground at Haden Hill Park. The perpetrator cut an X out of the back of her neck. Belinda had a rather complicated relationship with her older sister Veronica, who refuses to reveal anything about her sister and their past to Kim and her team. After the police discover two more victims with the same mark, it becomes clear that they are looking for a serial killer, ruthless and mercilessly cruel. The trail leads to an annual competition for talented children, which brings together young geniuses, accompanied by sometimes very ambitious parents. Did any of them kill because they failed? Or jealousy of others? And who else does he want to punish?
